Microblading is a semi-permanent make up method and is the must-have treatment for natural looking eyebrows.

Originating in Asia – it’s sometimes referred to as the Japanese Method, as well as eyebrow embroidery, feather touch and manual microstroking – microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing, designed to give your brows a natural, beautiful shape.

Perfect for those with thin or faded eyebrows, or people looking for a long-lasting confidence boost, microblading creates striking and realistic results in just two sessions.

How does it work?

Hair stokes are applied by a specialist using a handheld microblading instrument, which consists of several fine needles. Pigment is then inserted into the epidermis layer, to create the effect of real brows.

Unlike traditional tattoos which use a machine and blur after healing, microblading creates fine hair strokes, up-to three times thinner than other semi-permanent methods.

How many sessions do I need?

You can achieve great looking brows in just two sessions.

Session one includes a consultation (can be a separate appointment), where we will discuss your individual requirements and design your ideal eye brow shape. Initially drawn on with an eyebrow pencil, these can be redrawn as many times as necessary to achieve the perfect shape.

The original procedure then takes around an hour, and involves the hair strokes being created using the microblading tool. The finished effect will look darker than your required colour, but will fade within 4-5 days.

After 6-12 weeks a touch up is undertaken to complete the look of the brow. Some areas may not take as well as others, and these can be improved during this session. This retouch session also allows for modifications to the shape of the brow and for more colour to be added if necessary.

Is it for me?

Microblading is an ideal solution for people with thin or faded eyebrows, those who are looking for asymmetric eyebrows or those who just want to look younger.

It is also perfect for those suffering from alopecia or other medical conditions.

Microblading is also a cosmetic procedure that can help those who are sensitive to makeup, struggle to get the right shape when plucking or are just fed up of pencilling their brows every day.

How long does it last?

Microblading lasts for up to two years, although we recommend getting a touch up annually.

As the pigment fades due to sun exposure, facial cleaning regimes, and even dry and oily skin, this annual touch up is essential.

Is it painful?

Because the pigment is only applied to the epidermis layer, microblading is less painful than most forms of permanent cosmetics. Due to the nature of the microblading instrument, you will experience the sensation of a little scratch during the treatment.
